Today it takes the form of a multipurpose room surrounded by a further eight spacious rooms with great historical and artistic atmosphere, natural light and all the most modern technologies.
Each year Venice attracts international events and conferences. The Hotel has nine extraordinary “Ridotto Rooms”, perfect for meetings, but also to take guests back to the time of Giacomo Casanova with performances and themed evenings.
The word “Ridotto” has been known in Venice since 1282. It was used to refer to a place where the aristocracy in particular and all sorts of people (adventurers, prostitutes, card sharps, travellers, traders, etc.) “retreated” for various reasons, gambling, the pleasures of the courtesans, social and political relations – there was also a “ridotto” in the theatres and even an intellectual “ridotto” at the end of the 16th century. In particular, having according to tradition begun life outdoors between the columns of Marco and Todaro, gambling gained ground to such an extent in the city that the Government was delighted to have the gamblers “retreat” behind closed doors.
The staff of our events office can transform your idea into a concrete unique plan, helping you with all organisational aspects, from a simple aperitif to more complex events such as incentives, conventions, fashion shows, lunches and gala dinners.
